An award-winning educator at the University of Maryland, Dr. James V. Green leads the education activities of the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (Mtech). As its Director of Entrepreneurship Education, he has designed, managed, and/or taught 25+ undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship and technology commercialization.
He created and directs the Master of Professional Studies in Technology Entrepreneurship and Minor in Technology Entrepreneurship, leads select seed funding programs, and manages two living-learning entrepreneurship programs.
In 2011, he earned first prize in the 3E Learning Innovative Entrepreneurship Education Competition presented by USASBE.
In 2013, he launched the University of Maryland’s first MOOC with Coursera, “Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies”, enrolling over 800,000 students to date. He now leads two entrepreneurship specializations with Coursera, one in startup entrepreneurship and one in corporate entrepreneurship, totaling nine MOOCs.
With 25+ publications and invited presentations, he is a thought leader in entrepreneurship education pedagogy and entrepreneurial opportunity analysis.
Prior to the University of Maryland, Dr. Green held founder, executive, and operational roles with technology startups to include Cyveillance (acquired by QinetiQ, LSE: QQ.L), WaveCrest Laboratories (acquired by Magna International, NYSE: MGA), and NetMentors.Org.
